Johan’s Ark

by Josh at 11:37 am

The Center for Faith in Politics linked to a news story about a Dutchman named Johan Huibers who is building a one-fifth size scale replica of Noah’s Ark.  His goal is to prove that it can be done–that the biblical story of Noah’s Ark could have actually happened.  I don’t quite get this since Johan’s [...]

Final Compromise Bill Today… Hopefully

by Josh at 7:50 am

Last I heard, the House/Senate compromise bill is supposed to be released today.  Then we’ll see what’s actually in it.
To follow up on some of the points from my previous post, both Amy Ridenour and Malcolm Gladwell emailed me back.  Amy Ridenour noted that she didn’t know much about what was going on in Massachusetts [...]

Pirate Playing Cards

by Josh at 7:57 pm

I’ve written before about what to get that special pirate. I have a new item to add to the list: Pirate Playing Cards available at ThinkGeek. The description of the cards is hilarious:

A couple weeks ago, the talk [...]

Paying down your debt is questionable activity

by Josh at 2:23 pm

Thanks to Big Mike who linked to this story.  It’s truly unbelievable.
Appaently, aggressively paying down your credit card debt is so unamerican that it warrants a red flag at the Department of Homeland Security.  That’s right, paying down your debt might be a sign that you’re a terrorist.
Two things strike me about this story.  First [...]

And this is the day…

by Josh at 11:01 pm

I take two subway rides and one bus ride using last month’s T pass.  I don’t know what bothers me more: that I didn’t realize that I was trying to use last months T pass or that no MBTA officials did.
If I were to make excuses, I could mention that February is the shortest month [...]
